Scholarship Program Information — Sangamon Valley Mensa

 

 

Sangamon Valley Mensa habitually participates in the annual Mensa Education and Research Foundation Scholarship Program.  There are three requirements for applicants:

 

    1.  The applicant must currently be a resident of a participating American Mensa Local Group's area.

 

    2.  The applicant must be enrolled in a degree program in an accredited U.S. institution of higher learning during the academic year following the application date.

 

    3.  The applicant must submit an application and essay explaining his/her academic and/or vocational goals.

 

The scholarship process begins during the first week of September and ends with the scholarship application deadline of Jan. 15. No application forms are available at any other time. Applicants have until Jan. 15 to write an essay of not more than 550 words explaining their academic and/or vocational goals and how they plan to achieve those goals. The essays are sent through U.S. mail to their Local Scholarship Chair.
